Craig Livingstone
Director of Farming & Estates
After graduating from Scottish Agriculture College at Edinburgh University with a BSc in Agriculture, Craig’s early career was spent as a development Farm Manager in South Oxfordshire. He then trained as an agronomist and advised on over 20,000 acres. In 2016 Craig joined Lockerley Estate as Farm & Estate Manager and his work here brought the award by Farmers Weekly for Arable Farmer of the Year and Overall Farmer of the Year 2018. Lockerley Estate became a LEAF Demonstration Farm in 2019, and in 2020 Craig was asked to join the advisory panel for the National Food Strategy. Lockerley Estate is now LEAF Marque certified and is a ‘beacon farm’ for regenerative farming practice.
Matt Bloor
Woodland and Conservation Manager
Matt first worked in the estate woodlands from 1990 to 1991 before qualifying in forestry at Newton Rigg College in Cumbria. He returned to Lockerley Estate as Woodland Manager in 2008 after working for Defence Estates and Tortworth Estate. Matt manages the woodland and his role has developed in recent years to encompass both the conservation and wilding projects across the estate.
Tom Dawkins
Development Arable Manager/ Operator
Tom joined the team in February 2022. Tom has a proven track record of working to the highest standard and brings a wealth of practical expertise to the team. Tom is on a development programme and completing his Basis accredidation in crop protection this year. He is also becoming our brewing expert (!) and learning the art of creating compost tea.
Alastair Pocock
Arable Manager/ Operator
Having completed a BSc in Agriculture at Harper Adams university, Alastair joined us in June 2017 as a farm operator and has completed a structured 5 year development programme that has seen him complete numerous qualifications, namely his Basis accreditation in crop protection.
With a hunger to progress, Alastair is now part of key agronomy decision making whilst leading the Red Tractor, LEAF Marque Assurance schemes and other benchmarking platforms. He is also our resident photographer and has taken many of the pictures used on this website!
Geoff Girling
Gamekeeper
Geoff’s role at Lockerley Estate is diverse and varied. Geoff is the gamekeeper and runs a small sporting shoot on the estate. With a significant woodland enterprise at Lockerley, Geoff’s time is split between pest control, estate maintenance, fencing, arable and forestry.
Nicola Livingstone
Farm Secretary
Graduating from Sheffield University with a LLB in International Law, Nikki is now an Associate Member of IAgSA and runs the office at Lockerley Estate and is involved in all aspects of the farm and estate, from doing the bookkeeping to organising our outreach programme, HR & training to managing farm properties, and producing farm reports to creating this website!
